Company Audition Results 2012 - 2013


CONGRATULATIONS!

We would like to thank you all for coming out for our dance companies. This has been a record year for us with the number of dancers who auditioned! You all did a great job and we truly appreciate your dedication and hard work. We are so excited about this next dance season, and we feel confident that we have placed you appropriately to compliment your ability levels. Please trust us in our decision and we will definitely have a great year! We have seen so much improvement in all of you throughout last year, and we can’t wait to see how much you can improve this year as well. We are proud of you all! Thank you all again for auditioning, and we will see you all the week of September 10th.

Don't forget about our Company Welcome Party on Monday, September 17th from 5:30 - 8:30 for all 2012 - 2013 company dancers! 

Pointe class starts on the first Wednesday, September 12th from 6 -7 p.m. for those of you who would like to be considered for the class.

SPOTLIGHT SCHOOL OF DANCE
COMPANY AUDITIONS
2012 - 2013

Interested in trying out for one of our competitive dance companies?
 Tryout dates are as follows:
Tuesday, August 28th  
Wednesday, August 29th    
Level I: Minimum age of 8;
4:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
Level II: Minimum age of 13;
Group 1: 6:30 – 8:15 p.m.
Group 2: 8:30 – 10:15 p.m.
Student will learn a Lyrical/Ballet, Jazz & Tap combination on this day!
Students will Audition the 3 combinations they learned on the Tuesday, Aug. 28th in front of a panel of judges. They will be given an exact time to return for their tryout on Wednesday when they sign in on Tuesday.

***Ages for auditions are also based on levels of dance. Ages 8 & Up are similar to Level I at Dance Camp and Ages 13 and Up will be Level II. Dancers should look at the Levels described below to see where they should audition. Any dancer is welcome to bump down to the Level I audition if they feel necessary, but no dancer 12 and under may bump up to the Level II audition unless they are approached by Spotlight Faculty to do so. If you are new to Spotlight, are in the in between age range, or are unsure for any reason about which audition to come to please speak to Dede or Lindsay and they will guide you to the appropriate audition for you***

CAMP LEVELS 2012: 
WHICH LEVEL ARE YOU? Read the descriptions below to get a better idea of what class level you should participate in, or please ask instructors for their opinion if you are still unsure.

LEVEL I: (8 yrs old & up): Dancers should have some experience in these subjects, but it is not necessary to have extensive knowledge. They should have worked on single pirouettes and may be working towards doubles, grand jete and developpe leaps, chaine turns in combinations etc. These classes will incorporated barre, across the floor and center floor combinations, but will be moving at a slower pace than Level II classes and will be concentrating on basic technical elements within combinations.
LEVEL II: Dancers should have a strong grasp on these dance techniques already and are looking to expand their talent with advanced choreography. They should already have strong double pirouettes working for triples and other advanced technical elements such as fouettes, attitude leaps etc. Expect combinations to be high paced and to be taught quickly. Classes will include center floor, barre and across the floor materials depending on the class.

2012 - 2013 Open House & Registration


Don't forget to come to the studio next Wednesday, August 8th or Thursday, August 9th from 4 - 7 p.m. for our OPEN HOUSE & REGISTRATION for our 2012 - 2013 dance season! We will be registering for next season's weekly classes as well as our 2012 Dance Camp that runs August 13th - 16th and our Company Auditions that take place August 28th & 29th

We are so excited to make our 10th year in business the best yet and one to remember! We we will see you soon and don't forget to ENJOY YOUR TIME IN THE SPOTLIGHT!

SPOTLIGHT AUGUST CAMP 2012 SCHEDULE

AUGUST 13TH - 16TH
$100 for all 10 classes in your Level! Or $12 per class per day!
All payments must be received prior to that day's classes. Credit cards are accepted. Make checks payable to Spotlight School of Dance

Level II Classes: Monday, August 13th & Wednesday, August 15th
